Spectrum Magazine will host a fundraising skateboard/ BMX competition to raise money for the Bloomsburg skate park. The first Revolution Skate Competition will be held at Bloomsburg Town Park, April 29, beginning at 12 noon. Sponsors include Schuylkill Valley Sports, Kranzel Bike and Extreme Outdoors, Runners Roost Bike and Sports, Haven Clothing, and Weis. Prizes include decks, helmets, movies and more.

Categories are best trick, street course, and half- pipe. Each category is separated into intermediate, and advanced. A beginner competition will be separate. Events are subjected to change depending on amount of registration. DJ Phreak will provide background entertainment. Food and beverages will be available.

The First Revolution competition will help fund the newly-constructed skate park, built by BMX riders and skateboarders, with additional financial assistance from the Town of Bloomsburg. In the fall of 2005, Spectrum Magazine published an article about the skate park. To enter, riders or skateboarders should contact Kelly MacCord at 570-389-4825 or e-mail at BUSpectrum@gmail.com. Registration begins at 9 a.m. on the day of the event.
