Illusionist Mike Super will be making his way to Bloomsburg University on October 20 to perform his unique blend of magic and stage show for the Mitrani Hall audience, as a part of BU's Celebrity Artist Series.

The magician has been practicing magic since the age of six while growing up in Pittsburgh, and routinely performs around 175-200 days a year. Super uses an array of different stage tricks, such as lighting, music, and comedy, to make his show transcend that of a traditional magic show.

Among the many accolades Super has collected over the years, his being named Entertainer of the Year by CA Magazine in 2003 stands as the most significant, but also includes national recognition as the 2004 Novelty Entertainer of the Year, the 2003 Best Performing Artist, the 2003 Best Male Entertainer of the Year, the 2002 Performing Arts Entertainer of the Year, as well as many others from various publications.

Much like fellow magician David Blaine, Super is also known to levitate during his shows in an effort to, as he admits on his official website, "freak people out." It is with illusions such as levitation and his ability to create snow with his bare hands that make his performances so popular with people of all ages and demographics.

Super has entertained a plethora of celebrities, including Regis Philbin and Joan Rivers, and is a member of the prestigious International Brotherhood of Magicians and the Society of American Magicians.

Tickets for Mike Super's Bloomsburg University performance are available now at $20 for adults and $10 for children and BU students. The event is set to begin at 8 p.m. in the Haas Center for the Performing Arts. For more information, or to purchase tickets, contact the box office at (570) 389-4409 Monday through Friday from noon to 4 p.m.
