The Bloomsburg University Alumni Association will present the Grad Finale on Thursday, November 9 in the Fenstemaker Alumni House. Graduating seniors will be able to have their yearbook pictures taken, pick up commencement tickets, order cap and gown, register for prizes and receive information about the Alumni Association.
The event will run from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and has an expected attendance of 200 - 300 students who will be graduating in December.
The Alumni Association asked faculty to encourage graduating seniors to attend the event. Faculty may also attend.
At the Grad Finale, informal presentations will explain the Alumni Association, the on-line community and the services available to BU graduates.
The event also occurs in the spring. Next semester it will occur April 11 and 12.
Grad Finale is sponsored by the BU Alumni Association, the Registrar's Office, the University Store, the Career Development Center, the office of Graduate Studies and corporate sponsors Jostens and Liberty Mutual.
The Bloomsburg University Alumni Association offers a web site similar to that of Myspace and Facebook.
The site is located at www.bualumni.com, and has features such as "The Latest Husky News," Alumni Services, and Events and Photos.
Like Myspace and Facebook, the Alumni Association requires a username and a password to access certain parts of the website, although other facets, such as those listed above, are accessible to everyone.
Members can create profiles within the website, allowing alumni to post information about themselves.
A calendar of upcoming events on the website keeps people informed about what is to come regarding Bloomsburg graduates.
