The Bloomsburg University women’s basketball team lost its second game in a row Wednesday night, falling to Shippensburg 72-67 at Nelson Field House.

Following the fourth tie of the first half, freshman Kayla Oxenrider sparked an 11-1 Bloomsburg run with a three pointer. Freshman Alyssa Flanagan hit a three on the Huskies’ next possession, then Oxenrider buried another three before freshman Lauren Ellis capped the run with a short jumper.
Following the 11-1 Bloomsburg run, Shippensburg went on a 13-4 run of its own. With 21 seconds to play in the first half, Shippensburg senior Lauren Beckley hit a three to give Shippensburg its first lead of the game, and also broke the PSAC all time scoring record with the shot.
Flanagan would close out the first half with a three point play, giving the Huskies a 36-35 halftime lead.
The Red Raiders got out to a fast start in the second half, eventually building up a 12 point lead. Bloomsburg would battle back however to get within two points with just 24.7 seconds left. Bloomsburg was forced to foul and send Beckley to the free throw line with 19 seconds left, and Beckley would sink both free throws to give Shippensburg a four point lead.

Wieller was named Freshman of the Week for the seventh time last week.
