Huskies advance to the championship round of the PSAC Tournament
The Bloomsburg University softball team has advanced to the next round of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Tournament this past weekend. Overall, the Huskies went 3-1, avoiding double elimination against Kutztown. Going into the tournament, Bloomsburg remained the top ranked team in the NCAA Division II Regional Poll.
Huskies’ 22-game winning streak snapped by rival Kutztown
The sixth ranked Husky softball team split a pair of games with Kutztown University on Saturday, snapping their 22-game winning streak. Bloomsburg pulled out a 2-1 win in the opener and dropped the later game with a final score of 7-3. Game one started with the Huskies tacking one on the board in the second inning.
Huskies winning streak now at 21 games, clinch PSAC Central Division in the process
The sixth ranked Division II Husky softball team have won a remarkable 21 straight games and clinched first place in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Central Division in Tuesday's double header against Mansfield. The final scores were 12-0 and 8-0, both games were called after five innings of play.
Huskies streaking with 15 consecutive wins
The win streak rolls on to 15 for the Husky softball team, as they swept IUP in a double- header on Tuesday, with final scores of 1-0 in 13 innings and 12-1 in five innings. It was the battle of the top two teams in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Central Division, and game one was a straight clash of the Titans.
Mauro and Fisher lead the Huskies past the Eagles and Lakers in two weekend doubleheaders
On Sunday, the Husky softball team continued to improve their record by sweeping Clarion University with final scores of 6-1 and 11-2. In game one, Nikki Shiko led off with a solo homer for the Huskies, but Clarion responded and quickly tied it up in the bottom of the first.
Team sweeps Lock Haven in home doubleheader after winning four of five over the weekend
The 12th ranked Division II Husky softball team improved their record to 17-3 over the past weekend at the West Virginia Wesleyan Tournament. The Huskies beat Glenville State, 2-1; Alderson-Broaddus, 6-2; West Liberty State, 11-0; and the University of Charleston, 16-4.
Huskies win seven of eight games while playing in Florida during spring break
The Husky softball team completed a successful spring break trip this past Saturday in Orlando, FL. Over the duration of their stay, they played 14 games in eight days. A five-inning no-hitter by freshmen Cait Paine over Nyack College highlighted Bloomsburg's final day in their annual trip.
