Lacrosse team advances to the PSAC semifinal game versus Lock Haven following a quarterfinal win

Last Saturday, Bloomsburg women's lacrosse hosted a game against Kutztown University. This day was also BU's Senior Day. Through out the game, Bloomsburg completely dominated play. BU defeated Kutztown 23-5 at Sports Stadium.
           
On Tuesday, Bloomsburg University's women's lacrosse team defeated East Stroudsburg University with a final score of 19-15 at Sports Stadium. The game counted as the quarterfinals of the 2010 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Lacrosse Tournament.
           
At the start of the game, BU won control of the draw. BU got on the board first when junior Tia Mazzie scored only 26 seconds into the game. Following Bloomsburg's goal, ESU scored its first goal. Bloomsburg came back by scoring two more goals at the 23:57 mark to take a 3 to 1 lead over ESU. Goals came from sophomores Samantha King and Allie Kakareka. The score continued to sway after ESU netted three straight goals giving them the lead 4 to 3 over the Huskies. BU freshman Samantha Mazzie broke ESU's shooting streak by scoring a goal for the Huskies. ESU then went on to score three straight goals again, but this time the Huskies repeated history by scoring three straight goals of their own. The score was not tied for long because ESU scored two more times before the end of first period. Also, the Huskies netted goals before the end of the period to give the lead of 10-9.
           
The Huskies came out ready to play at the start of the second period. Bloomsburg put points on the board first. Goals came from King, Samantha and Tia Mazzie. At the 20:03 mark in the second period, Bloomsburg remained in the lead having a score of 14 to 12. As the game continued, ESU came back to took a one point lead. Even still, the lead did not last. The Huskies scored again, eventually taking over the game. BU won the game, yielding a victorious score of 19 to 15 over the Warriors.
           
This Friday, the Huskies will travel to West Chester University to face WCU Rams.
